Entry Requirements
There are a number of entry routes which take into account previous school leaver and graduate qualifications and allow you to study for the CIMA qualification, provide you are 18 or over and meet any of the following criteria:
Criteria
- CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
- A degree in accountancy or business
- AAT qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians)
- An overseas qualification equivalent to the above.
Exemptions
Some qualifications may offer you exemptions and enable you to enter at an advanced stage of the syllabus.

There are 2 exam sittings each year:
Registration with CIMA
All students who wish to sit CIMA Examinations must:
1. Register as a student with CIMA.
2. Register to sit specific exams with CIMA
(You will be sent an exam entry form once you have registered with CIMA)
.Enrolment on an LEC courses does not registered you with CIMA.
Note: Exemption, registration and exam entry deadline dates are approximate and should be checked with CIMA.

Syllabus structure
CIMA’s new syllabus, examinable from May 2005, has been introduced to further enhance the status of chartered management accountants and ensure the needs of employers are fully satisfied in today’s dynamic business environment. With this new syllabus, CIMA prides itself on offering a qualification which includes more management accounting and strategy content than other professional accountancy qualifications and more detailed coverage of project management.

Which is ideal if you are not in full-time employment or are between jobs.These courses are particularly suitable for overseas student Visa requirements, provided you study for a minimum of three papers at a time.
